Why Not Let This Be Now?

Not wanting to pen these words out so plainly, but knowing this valve needs its release.
Pierced first by your eyes, but soon your radiant smile had also captivated me. 
Won over first by your kindness before being awed by your genuine sincerity.
Your acts of generosity did not go unnoticed; your selflessness quickly became something I greatly admired. 

Moments together at the top of my game, doing everything within my power to show my affection.
Adoring you more with the start of each new day, with the passing of each minute.
Picturing often a lifetime of happiness, saying a simple prayer with each day’s sun setting.
Feeling more at peace each time I settle in for a sweet, dreamful sleep while imagining your body tucked closely to mine.

If there is even the tiniest opening in your heart, I hope you will invite me in.
I will wrap you with so much love that I will forever knock you off your feet.
I will love you in ways that you never imagined could have existed.
If there can be a time and a place for the two of us together, why not let this be now? 

Alive, joyous, and hopeful, feeling like there’s nothing in the world that can keep me down.
Breathless, desperately gasping for air as I think of you and imagine our future encounters.
I do so with exhilarating anticipation, mind-numbing trepidation, and a nervousness previously unexperienced.
While the direction of what may become is unclear, I’m in it for the long haul if you’ll allow me.

And when this calming relief flows through my veins at times most needed, I can see that my hard work is paying off.
Effortlessly, I can take the joyful moments with the bad and all others that fall in between.
When past imperfections are no longer magnified and scrutinized from all angles, I can allow myself to feel whole.
These lessons, while initially resisted, have taught me patience; unprecedented, endless amounts of patience.
