Opposite This Doorway

Opposite this doorway, he sees the most beautiful woman who he knows he should have never met.
In a place so desolate and unrecognizable, love is the last thing that stands a chance.
In a place where circumstances were and unknown and the situation restrictive.
He should just walk away.
He should just walk away.

Opposite this doorway, he is full of anticipation.
The sensation running through his veins at the moment is unlike any other he has previously experienced.
This rapid heartbeat and involuntary leg shaking are unusual and nerve-wracking but exhilarating nonetheless.
An unknown vulnerability that has never existed before has unexpectedly presented itself in full force.
An underlining fear shakes his core; he fears this unexplained anxiety suggests will forever wreck him.

Opposite this doorway, he remains rooted with trepidation.
During times of loneliness, he often finds himself here, offering something for nothing.
This unfamiliar hesitation abruptly halts a man whose life has derailed.
To call these encounters moments of weakness would be a lie, but this time it feels so different.
This self-loathing ritual that once allowed him an escape from his bitter life might no longer be.

Opposite this doorway, he suddenly senses a shot at redemption.
This rare opportunity presents itself, a chance to right the wrongs of past decisions gone awry.
To face adversity in the eye one more time, but for once, not cower in fear.
He’ll either redeem what was lost and gain back hope that has eluded him for years.
Or set himself up for sheer disappointment from which he may never recover.

Opposite this doorway, he sees a mystique lurking behind her big brown eyes.
Both stunning and erotic, but her mirthless smile tells him she is crying on the inside.
A battered woman with her backstory is ready to do nothing more than to ease his pain.
He should just walk away.
He should just walk away.

Encountering something more when and where you expect to find something much less.
