Forgiveness

When the opportunity presents itself, and one day it will, approach it with tenderness and compassion. Draw closer to your faith, rely on lessons learned, and trust in patience practiced; you’ve prepared for this test. Today is not about the pent-up anger that you’ve harbored and wanted for so long to release. God hasn’t been grooming you to be in a position of being the one who hurts back.

You may have to consume once again the hurt that you suffered from her actions and words. You may need to absorb the pain one more time so that she won’t have to do so. This is not an invitation to right the past wrongs inflicted upon you. This is growth. This is maturity. This is forgiveness. This is grace.

Be soft, gentle, and kind. Don’t give any awareness if hurt, unprocessed or not, still exists. Thank you for your words. I forgive you. But this is where we disconnect. It’s time for you to go. There are no ifs, ands, buts, howevers, althoughs, or any other attached conditions. There is only forgiveness.

When the opportunity presents itself, and one day it will, approach it with calmness and understanding. Move nearer to your heart and trust that your studies, prayers, and devotions have readied you for this challenge. This is not about the anguish that you’ve endured and waited for so long to end. God has equipped you with the resources needed to turn your story of grief and sorrow into one of triumph and redemption.

Allow her to say what she needs to say that will allow her mind to be at peace and her heart to be still. If what she speaks feels hollow or lacks the genuine authenticity you were hoping for, receive it just the same. This is not an offer for you to condemn her for the wrongs unjustly imposed upon you. This is growth. This is maturity. This is forgiveness. This is grace.

Be soft, gentle, and kind. Don’t give any inclination if hurt, unprocessed or not, still exists. Thank you for your words. I forgive you. But this is where we disconnect. It’s time for you to go. There are no ifs, ands, buts, howevers, althoughs, or any other attached conditions. There is only forgiveness.

Growth. Maturity. Forgiveness. Grace.
